Wishing You and Your Family a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving day presents us with a wonderful opportunity to express gratitude to our Creator, friends and loved ones.  Gratitude for all the blessings in our lives as well as the big ones.  For many, Thanksgiving starts the bittersweet holiday ride of coping with illness in the family, the first of many seasons without a spouse, son or daughter, father or mother.  Some days are grimmer and darker than others and some days are filled with the tremendous brightness of love and happiness.

I pray and wish for only the brightest and happiest days for all of you and special strength and healing to those who are wrestling with hardships.  Travel safe and enjoy these days of Thanksgiving.

Blessings,
Dr. Rick Barrett

Thank you, gracias, salamat, merci, danke schön, grazie, obrigado, medusa!

Yesterday’s 19th annual Thanksgiving food drive and patient appreciation day was a huge success!  Thank you to all those who were able to participate.  Counting how much food was donated is hard to do.  Some patients brought cases of canned food, others huge 25 lb. sacks of flour and sugar.  Others brought multiple bags of groceries and still others gave cash donations that totaled $300!  Our reception area is covered with food.  We even had to remove several chairs.  The staff front desk area is covered and Mary’s office…well, she can barely get to her desk chair.  The East Ft. Bend food pantry will pick it up today.  But, I’m sure we’ll have to get them back out on Monday and Tuesday again because donations will continue to arrive today thru Tuesday for those who couldn’t attend yesterday’s event.  As always I’m humbled by the love and generosity of our patients and community.

Děkuji and blessings,

Dr. Rick Barrett

P.S.  Special thanks to the vendors and local businesses for their participation and prizes for the raffle!
